About Steve Troop
Steve Troop started posting his comic Melonpool online several years before “webcomics” was even a word. e started building puppets of his characters to promote his comic at comic conventions and soon discovered he enjoyed designing and building puppets more than drawing comics.
He’s worked as an animator, storyboard artist, gag writer and junk mail creator (everybody needs a day job). His television credits include Glee and Teen Titans GO, music videos for Ed Sheeran, Trace Adkins and Kid Cudi and commercials for Honey and T-mobile. He also co-wrote and built puppets for an off-off Broadway show called Alien vs. Musical.
He has written and illustrated several books about cartoon aliens and/or dogs and teaches puppet design and patterning classes online. He builds a lot of dog and robot puppets. Sometimes robot dog puppets.
